Sweet Stampede July Blog Hop ~ Card Sketch & Color Choice Trio

 Hello Friends and welcome July,

Also known as the month that reaffirms the fact that we've survived yet another
'tornado season' here in Southeastern Oklahoma.

Welcome to another inspiring Sweet Stampede Blog Hop full of a variety of projects created by a few of my stamping friends and fellow teammates. Here's hoping our designs inspire you to retreat to your craft space, crank up the AC and escape to your paper crafting paradise.

Our projects this month each begin with a multi-element card sketch and feature three Stampin' Up! colors of our individual choosing.

Patriotic 'Floral's in Bloom', in Red, White & Blue

(Strawberry Slush, Basic White & Secret Sea)

Fun fold, column, pop up card.

Since it is the month of July, I couldn't help but take a patriotic approach.
Combining a few different products, I managed to pull together a card that I absolutely love
and of course, hope YOU do as well!!!!

To pull together this patriotic, nod to the 4th of July card,
I strategically 'snipped' the Sweet Blooms Dies,
Fussy cut a few flowers from the Florals In Bloom DSP
and added the stripes with of course the Painted Stripes background stamp.

This fun fold might look complicated. However, if you're a returning 'hopper' then you should know by now I don't do 'complicated'. Who has time for "complicated"? I certainly don't. I do however have time for 'fun'. So, let's get started....

Card Base:
Secret Sea cardstock, 5-1/2" x 8-1/4", score at 1", 2" 3" and 4"
Basic White, 5-1/8" x 3-1/8"
Basic White, 5-1/2" x 4- 1/4" scrap, stamped with the Painted Stripes, in Strawberry Slush (double strength) and cut down to 5" x 3". Adhere to the 5-1/8" x 3-1/8" piece from above.
*Save the remaining strip for the back panel of the card.
Basic White strip, 5-1/8" x 3/4"
Florals In Bloom DSP (Secret Sea pattern), 5" x 5/8".
Adhere the Secret Sea pattern piece to the Basic White 5-1/8" x 3/4" strip from above and then this double layer to the column portion of the card base.

Lay your Secret Sea card base flat, with the score lines towards the left. Adhere the larger striped piece to the right hand side of the card base. Burnish score lines, add adhesive to the back side of the outer most 1" strip. Fold at each score line inward, creating a sort of hollow box column. Adhering the column strip to the striped portion of the card base.

Card Front (smaller portion):
Secret Sea, 4-1/2" x 3-3/4", on the 4-1/2" side, score at 3" & 4"
Basic White, 3-1/2" x 2-3/4"
Basic White, 3-3/8" x 2-5/8" embossed with your favorite folder.
Layer and adhere these two Basic White pieces together.

Lay the Secret Sea card front, with the score lines towards the right, adhere the Basic White layers to the left side.
Burnish score lines and adhere to the card base as shown below.

I decorated the card front by layering the following pieces.

*Silver Foil circle, cut from the Spotlight in Nature Dies (or circle of your choice)

*Fussy cut three floral images from the Florals In Bloom DSP

*'Oh Happy Day' die cut is from the Greetings For All Mix & Match Ephemera Pack.
I trimmed the word 'day' from the die cut. Adhere these two pieces by separating the 'oh happy' and the 'day' pieces, leaving a space for the 'boom' die cut to be placed in between.

*Using the Sweet Blooms Dies, cut the solid outline 'bloom' from Basic White cardstock, and the fine lined 'bloom' cut from Poppy Parade cardstock. {I found the Poppy Parade color matched the 'double strength' stamping of the Strawberry Slush ink}

*Adhere the two pieces together. Carefully snip the letter 'l' from this piece and puzzle pieced the remaining two pieces together, spelling the new word of 'boom'..... as in fireworks and the 4th of July celebration.

For the back of this card, I've added a panel to write your message to your recipient.

*Basic White, 5-1/8" x 3-7/8"

*Adhere the remaining striped strip to the left side.

* Fussy cut two more floral pieces from the Florals In Bloom DSP, adhere in the lower left corner.

*Adhere this panel to the back of your card.

Lastly, I embellished with an Iridescent Ribbon (*last chance list) bow and a few scattered Rhinestone Basic Gems and 2025-2037 In-Color Flat Pearls in Secret Sea.

Here's one more look at my completed card in comparison to our assigned card sketch.
