Sweet Stampede November Blog Hop ~ Card Sketch

 

 November never felt sooooo good!
Fall has finally found its way to Oklahoma.

 Welcome to the latest edition of our 'Sweet Stampede Blog Hop'. 


We're featuring a sketch this month for our inspiration.

Sunflowers remind me of Autumn. Therefore, I chose to use the



My card began with a 4-1/4" x 11" Crumb Cake card base, folded in half. Randomly stamp both the LOVE and HOPE images in Crumb Cake ink all over the card front. 

To create the center image, I made sure to mask the 'words' with a large post-it and then stamped the sunflower in Crushed Curry ink, sponged a little Pecan Pie ink in the center of the flower. Removed the post-it mask and stamped directly onto a scrap of Basic Beige cardstock. Repeating the masking process, this time covering the sunflower portion and a fresh post-it, I then stamped the words in Secret Sea ink. Cut this stamped image with the Spotlight On Nature Dies.

Per the sketch, I tried adding the squares in both the upper left and lower right corners. Although, in my opinion it felt 'heavy', too busy, it really seemed too much. So, I simply added a swoosh of Gold Striped 3/8" Mesh Ribbon diagonally across the card front. Once I adhered the focal point sunflower image to the card front it allowed for the ribbon to peek out the upper left and lower right......in place of the squares. 

Keep in mind, a sketch is NOT the law! It's a starting point and you can proceed with as much flexibility as you choose.

To finish off the card front, I added a few Adhesive Backed Metallic Gems very much keeping the placement according to the sketch.


Lastly, I continued the imagery over to the inside by stamping just the sunflower image in the lower right-hand corner of a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" Basic Beige layer. Added a sentiment also from the Love & Courage Stampset. And called her done!!!

Sweet Stampede April Blog Hop ~ CARD SKETCH

 Hello April and Welcome Spring So happy to have you join us again for our monthly Sweet Stampede Blog Hop. Our projects this month each began with this fun 'card sketch' below. It's not uncommon for crafters to have soooo many supplies and pretty things to create with, that we sometimes have a hard time 'beginning' a project. "Where do I start?"  A card sketch makes for a great ignition switch that can ignite the flames of creativity  and get you started......and then it's all playtime after that.  You can follow a card sketch exactly as is OR switch it up as you create. For example, our card sketch this month is in a vertical orientation. However, I could have very simply viewed it in a horizontal position instead. The flagged banner shown on the sketch doesn't have to be a banner. It could very well be a ribbon and bow tied to one side. It's entirely up to YOUR interpretation. There are no rules when it comes to crafting, other than to enjoy...

 Hello Friends and welcome July,  Also known as the month that reaffirms the fact that we've survived yet another  'tornado season' here in Southeastern Oklahoma. Welcome to another inspiring Sweet Stampede Blog Hop full of a variety of projects created by a few of my stamping friends and fellow teammates.
