May the 'Snow' Rise Up to Meet You
Wooo Hoooo and WELCOME to my very first post on my first ever blog π
Snowed In Shenanigans.........
It's been a couple of weeks since our historical snowfall *(January 9, 2025) here in Durant, Oklahoma!!! Our weather officials tell us that a whopping 12" of the fluffy white stuff covered our tiny town. We measured about 7" in our front yard. Regardless of the exact amount, it was MUCH to our surprise, a welcomed weather event and soooooo very beautiful for about a week following. Our city of Durant, being a fairly small town and certainly not use to anything more than a light glazing of ice about every two years, it understandably took a couple of days before our town's single snowplow found it's way to our lil' neighborhood along the outskirts of town. Of course, the clearing of main roads and highways were the priority. Believe me, we weren't complaining about being 'stranded'. Afterall we were quite literally living in a winter wonderland. The guys shoveled, we threw endless snowballs, built an Okie snowman and pretty much played outside until our fingers and toes were blue.
And if you follow me on Facebook you know I took far too many pictures (is there truly such a thing?!)
A couple of them I'm sharing here.
And then the thaw began........
The days following, began the repeating process of melting during the day and refreezing overnight.
Our days of snow play came to a halt and finding things to do inside to past the time began.
Mr Davidson found the tv as his choice of entertainment. Connor went back to work and I decided to once again, attempt something that I've tried and failed at so many times in the last couple of years,
I've honestly lost count. Though, I'm quite certain it's in the 'triple digit' neighborhood. Maybe a slight exaggeration there. Lol!
Ever since my paper 'play' became a sort of side gig and for a variety of other reasons, I've wanted to create a blog. Nothing crazy big, just a wee landing page where I could share a few of my stamping shenanigans and sweet treats and perhaps sprinkle in a bit of fun along the way.
Not so 'fun' fact, computer technology and I haven't exactly been best buddies. We like to pretend that we are and in some cases we even give the appearance of a loving couple. However, creating a webpage from scratch has been entirely foreign territory for me and has been quite the battle, believe me!!!!

Well, the 157th attempt seems to have been the charm, because low and behold,
lookie here .....................you're reading my very first
'Patti's Craftin' Shenanigans' Blog post!!!

I'm hoping to share a variety of things here...... of course I'll be highlighting some crafty projects, that primarily use 'paper'. Projects such as greeting cards, stationary gifts, treat packaging, small journals, and so on. Most of which will feature Stampin' Up! products although I'm not opposed to using random retail finds along the way as well. As some of you may already know about me....If I'm not in my craft room creating, you'll most likely find me in the kitchen baking something fun. Sweet treats are typically my 'go-to'. So you're likely to find a few fun, quick and easy seasonal recipes here as well.
I'm a huge, quite possibly, even annoying, advocate for reviving the long-lost love of 'SNAIL MAIL' #snailmailshenanigans. Whether it's via a good old-fashioned letter to a pen pal across the states, or via a handful of birthday cards sent off each month to loved ones celebrating, and maybe it's a short note simply to say "I'm Thinking of You"...... it's all a small effort with BIG results. Correct me if I'm wrong. It's my thinking that most everyone would love to find a special something addressed to just them, in their mailbox. Finding anything other than a bill or jury summons in their mailbox is a much-welcomed surprise. Over the years I've grown a strong passion (or some may say addiction) for creating, assembling and mailing 'HAPPY MAIL' packages too, big and small. Sharing and spreading smiles across the globe to family, friends and even the occasional stranger. It's through the gift of giving that I'm at my happiest.
I'd love to have you join me on this lil' adventure of mine. And be sure to check back often to see what shenanigans I'm stirring up next.

Typically, this where I'd share something crafty . Although, I've taken up so much of your time already I'm thinking I'll let you off the hook. Here's a wee bit of humor to leave you with a grin...
