Sweet Stampede October Blog Hop ~ Fall Colors

Hello October and shhhhh, happy birthday month to me :- )

Welcome to the latest edition of our 'Sweet Stampede Blog Hop'.

This month we are featuring our favorite Fall colors.
Seriously, how do you choose a 'favorite'? I love them ALL!!!
However, I ended up using only a couple of the color choices below, Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze.
In addition, I sprinkled in a couple of random non-traditional colors that I thought went really well together......
Pretty Peacock and Pool Party. Surprise!!!

I chose to use a 'one sheet wonder' template for my card(s) this time around.
It's actually called a 'Criss-Cross One Sheet Wonder'.
If you're not familiar with this 'time saving' card making technique,
then you're in for real treat!!

'Gathering Moments'
I selected an obvious stamp set, Gathering Moments #165970
This stamp set features mostly leaves
and what better way to highlight 'Fall colors', than with leaves.

Yes, you're seeing correctly, FOUR cards! Typically, a 'one sheet wonder' consists of only one sheet of paper. That single sheet of 'paper' could be cardstock or pattern paper or you can do what I did here and create your own 'pattern paper'. The 'wonder' part is the huge 'time saver'. It's when you cut this one sheet of paper a particular way, it allows you to make multiple cards at once. In this scenario above, I was able to make four cards from one sheet of cardstock in just a matter of minutes.

The process began with....

A 7-1/2" x 10" Basic White Cardstock.

I randomly stamped a variety of leaf/foliage images, in an approximate 2" wide 'Criss-Cross' portion of my cardstock. My choice of Fall colors were: Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Pretty Peacock, Pool Party, Early Espresso and Timid Tiger. The stamping tends to flow better when stamping with one single color randomly over the criss-cross section before moving onto the next color. Another tip would be to begin stamping with your largest image first and work down to the smallest stamp image. You'll want to fill in the majority of the 'criss-cross' area, leaving very little white space, again with-in the 'criss-cross' area.

Once I was happy with my stamping coverage, I cut the cardstock in half both vertically and horizontally, ending up with four card front layers, each measuring 3-3/4" x 5"

Cut four card bases 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", fold in half at 4-1/4". I used Pretty Peacock, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Old Olive.
I then stamped tone on tone (both ink and cardstock are the same color) around the edges of each card front, stamping a different image for each cardbase.

On each of the four card front layers I stamped a different greeting/sentiment using Secret Sea (the new black *wink wink). Adhere each card front layer 'flat to a cardbase. Keeping it simple.

The final step was to embellish. I added a small loopy natural bakers twine bow and scattered a few Low Profile Dots in gold and a few Cajun Craze with Gold Dots.

There you go.....FOUR cards in just minutes!!!!
