Sweet Stampede June Blog Hop ~ Card Sketch & Favorite New 'Annual Catalog' Bundle
Hello June and Goodbye Tornado Season!!!!!
This month we have another fun card sketch for you.
We've each paired the card sketch along with a favorite bundle from the new 2025-26 Annual Catalog.
Sympathy or Get Well Wishes ~ Tissue Slider Box
I chose to create a 3-D project this month instead of a card.
---------------------------------------------------------
Now, let's take a look at our sketch. It's one from
the 2025-26 Annual Catalog, on page 24
As you can see, this sketch is oriented in a 'portrait' layout. I actual turned it clockwise by 90 degrees and adjusted my sentiment piece as well. Remember, a sketch can be followed exactly OR left up to your interpretation.
As long as it sparks inspiration inside you, then it's served it's purpose!!
My bundle of choice is the Gallery Blooms Bundle.
Funny thing is now that I'm typing this blog, I'm realizing I really didn't use the actual 'bundle' much at all. In fact, I didn't use the stamp set at all and only used one tiny die.
It's the 6" x 6" Beautiful Gallery Patterened Paper that I leaned into the most.
I originally fell in love with this particular piece....
It reminded me of an old Irish Cottage. And yet I didn't use it on my project.
I just couldn't bring myself to 'cut it'. I'll end up hoarding each of the 4 pcs of this exact pattern, probably never use them but will always have them 'just in case'.
Yes, it's an illness of which there is no cure! Hahahaha!!!!
When I first saw this paper, I immediately visualized a project that Erica Cerwin (our fearless leader of the Sweet Stampede and paper magician) shared YEARS ago.
February 4, 2016 to be exact. I'll share her link to the video later in this post.
Erica created a Kleenex 'tissue slider' box. I fell in love with her project and have made it MANY times since, mostly as 'Get Well' wishes. Ha, I even made this box and sent them to friends for the debut of season 2 of 'This Is Us'. Lol!!!!! If you're a fan of that series you know there were tears shed EVERY single episode!!!! *hence the Kleenex
Anyway, I felt this paper pack spoke 'sympathy' and that's the direction I took.
I'm telling ya, once I get an idea in my head, I've got to make it or it'll be stuck there and most likely keep me up at night until the deed is done!!! Lol!
Are you that way? Do unfinished projects keep your mind awake at night?!
*****************************
My goodness, I've rambled on far too long.
Tah Daaaaah, here's is my project. A 'tissue slider box', sympathy version.
The travel size Kleenex (available nearly everywhere. WalMart, Target, Dollar Tree etc.) pack fits snuggly into the inner 'pouch' and then the pouch slides into the outer 'sleeve'.
Soooooo cute, and such a perfect little 'thinking of you' gift. It's also small enough and light weight, you could very easily mail these, to brighten someone's day.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I started first with the sleeve:
Cut a 4 1/2" x 7" of Secret Sky cardstock
Cut a 4 1/2" x 7" of Secret Sky cardstock
Score the long side at 1/2", 1 3/8", 3 3/4" and 4 5/8"
Burnish all the score lines and adhere to the 1/2" tab to the inside of the opposite end, creating a sleeve.
Then the inner box:
Cut a 5 1/4" x 7" of Cloud Cover cardstock
Cut a 5 1/4" x 7" of Cloud Cover cardstock
Score the log side at 1/2", 1 1/4", 5 3/4" and 6 1/2"
Score the short side at 2 1/4" and 3"
Trim according to the photo. Assemble by folding the tabs in and adhering the short tabs to the inside of the back side panel. Creating a 'pouch', or sort of a pocket for the tissue.
Once assembled the two pieces should fit together as shown.
To decorate:
I cut a large and two smaller flowers from this paper pattern. I sponged a tiny bit of Secret Sky ink around the edges of each flower piece, simply to add a little 'depth'.
Cut a front panel piece 3 1/4" x 4 3/8" of a Cloud Cover in color, coordinating piece from the same paper pack. Adhere to the outer sleeve.
Using a scrap piece of both Secret Sky and Coud Cover cardstock, die cut 3-4 leaves from the Gallery Blooms dies.
Cut a 1 1/4" x 4 1/2" strip for the same floral pattern. And a 3/4" x 4 1/2" strip of the Cloud Cover pattern paper from the same Beautiful Gallery Paper pack.
Tear along the long sides of both paper pieces. Be sure to tear towards yourself in order to expose the white border. You could very well skip this step if you'd like.
I finished the project by adding a few 2025-2027 In-Color Flat Pearls and a sentiment from my favorite Greetings For All Mix and Match Ephemera Pack.
And there you go! What do you think, would you send one of these to a sick family member or perhaps a friend who has just lost someone dear?
